The Fraunhofer Center for Central and Eastern Europe (MOEZ) and the Fraunhofer Institute for Environmental, Safety and Energy Technology (UMSICHT) belong to the 57 Fraunhofer institutes in Germany headed by the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft zur Förderung der angewandten Forschung e.V.

The Fraunhofer MOEZ is the strategic partner of industry, research, and politics for networking and collaboration with policy makers in Central and Eastern European growth markets. Our interdisciplinary team links business, policy, and social science know-how together with distinctive regional expertise regarding Central and Eastern Europe. The Fraunhofer MOEZ is lead partner of the project COACH BioEnergy. The project management team is responsible for the day-to-day project management, coordination, internal communication and financial management. Further tasks of the institute are steering and monitoring of the project implementation by the project partners and the certification of expenditure. The Fraunhofer MOEZ supports also the contextual design of the work packages.

The Fraunhofer UMSICHT represents process engineering competence in the fields of environmental, safety, process and energy technology. The institute develops tests, evaluates and optimises technical processes, it introduces new and intelligent technologies, which save resources and operate reliably, economically and environmentally friendly as well as outline new strategic processes in using the natural resources in a sustainable way.
